We Need Your Help to Build Safer Communities

At a community meeting, a person stands to speak with a Global Peace Foundation banner displayed prominently in the background. Attendees are seated, intently listening, as the text reads,

Will you join me in building safer communities around the world?

I was a young mom when the Oklahoma Federal Building was bombed. A daycare was decimated in the tragedy, and there were many parents who couldn’t take their children home that night. As I held my son tighter that day, I was struck by the news that the perpetrator was a person from my own community.

A few years later, 9/11 horrified the world. By this time, my son was in grade school. I was so scared when I picked him up that day. I just wanted to get him home.

Experiences like these are what motivate me help prevent tragedies of mass violence fueled by hate and bias. At Global Peace Foundation, we understand that prevention is the best path towards strengthening communities and fostering peace before senseless loss of life can take place. Our work connects people from all backgrounds with resources, education, and a network of partners and stakeholders that work together to keep people safe in our schools, workplaces, and public spaces.

With your support, our initiatives throughout 2023 have made significant strides to raise awareness and prevent hate-fueled violence and terrorism. With your help, the Global Peace Foundation has provided over 30 trainings to more than 1,700 community and faith leaders in the United States alone. The training programs have raised awareness of the threats and indicators of radicalization to violence and prevention capabilities.

This year, Global Peace Foundation also led similar efforts in Tanzania, working with NGOs and community organizations to prevent the financing of terrorism. Similarly, our prior efforts in Kenya raised awareness and helped build connections amongst diverse community members.

These are great achievements, but there is so much more that we hope to achieve, and we know will be made possible with your donation. Our efforts are empowering communities to make their communities safer through information, resources, helpful tips, and social media best practices.

Whether in the communities of Maryland or the villages in Tanzania, your contribution can significantly impact our work to build safer communities for everyone globally.

Please make your donation at give.globalpeace.org.

Thank you for joining us in Building Peace Together.

Sincerely,
