The Star Reports “Sh4.5m Community Cooker Launched in Kariobangi”

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero launched the Sh4.5 million Community Cooker project last Wednesday, May 11 in Kariobangi, Kenya. The project sponsored by the Global Peace Foundation, allows for the use of combustible waste from the area to generate energy for cooking and heating water. 

Governor Kidero said, “This project is a testament to the power of public-private partnerships. It provides an opportunity for different entities to combine their strengths and collectively address pressing community development needs.” 

The project is supported and funded by Chandaria Foundation, Safaricom Foundation, Unilever, UNEP, UN Habitat, Community Cooker Foundation and KCB.
