The Mobile School Brings Education to Children in Rural Malaysia

Education is an essential right for children and a key to alleviating poverty. However, the children from the Orang Asli villages in Malaysia are often unable to go to school and have high rates of school drop-outs. One major reason for this is that children don’t have access to transportation to go to school. Parents also don’t have enough money to buy school supplies or lack awareness of the importance of education.

This is why Global Peace Foundation Malaysia’s Mobile School in partnership with ECM Libra Foundation seeks to bridge this education gap by making education accessible to the children of the Orang Asli community. GPF volunteers and staff helped organize the Mobile School classes with the desire for these children to become literate, learn numbers, and acquire essential life skills.
