Carlos Alves Moura is the executive secretary of the Brazilian Justice and Peace Commission, the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil. From 1988 to 1990, he founded and was the chair of Fundação Cultural Palmares (FCP). He was the general coordinator of the Centro Nacional de Informação e Referência da Cultura Negra (CNIRC). He was an advisor of affirs of African-Brazilian culture in the Ministry of Culture. He is also a lawyer.
