This interactive open space session engaged participants on the challenges of hate, radicalization, violent extremism, identity-based conflict and community polarization.

Counteractive and proactive approaches in dealing with these challenges examine peacebuilding, sustainable development, social media campaigning and online safety training. Participants had an opportunity to consider community based, school and online working models that engage youth, students and community members from diverse tribal, faith traditions, ethnic groups and different backgrounds to build vibrant relationships, social cohesion and strengthening resilience. Community engagement, caring schools, collaborative service projects, youth leadership development and social media campaigning can all work together as an antidote to extremism. The end result is real peace.
