Dr. Prabhas C. Sinha, the director of Global Peace Foundation (GPF) India, was honored at the Global Sustainability Awards 2024. The event, organized by ARCedtech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., was held at the Indian Mountaineering Foundation in New Delhi on December 6 and 7, 2024. The awards celebrated the outstanding contributions of schools, educators, students, NGOs, startups, and international thought leaders for their global environmental and sustainability efforts.

Recognized for his contributions to peacebuilding and environmental sustainability, Dr. Sinha participated in a panel discussion on “Bridging Peace and the Environment” during which he underscored the inherent link between the two. He stated “Environmental degradation exacerbates conflicts, and at the same time, peaceful societies are more capable of addressing ecological challenges. Therefore, building a culture of peace is not just a moral imperative but a necessity for sustainable development.”

Highlighting the innovative approaches showcased during the event, Dr. Sinha referenced the ongoing need for inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration among diverse entities to achieve peace and global sustainability. He emphasized that this includes providing inclusive platforms for youth and innovators to work together to create realistic solutions for pressing environmental challenges.

The journey to achieve peace and sustainable development requires a collective effort as evidenced by the diverse awardees at the Global Sustainability Awards 2024. Showcased projects such as student renewable energy prototypes and innovative waste management systems, startup cutting-edge solutions blending technology and environmental science, and NGO community-driven sustainability initiatives demonstrate the value of people from all backgrounds working together to achieve this globally desired goal.

GPF India and its leader, Dr. Sinha, will continue to advocate for environmental stewardship and peacebuilding. Programs initiated in support of global sustainability goals include youth empowerment, community-based conservation, and educational initiatives on environmental awareness.

The Global Sustainability Awards 2024 were evidence of the power of inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration in forging a future where sustainable development is at the forefront of global activity. The event highlighted the efforts of environmental-conscious leaders and organizations like GPF India, which are paving the way for sustainable development that will benefit people worldwide.
