“Umoja ni Nguvu, Utengano ni Udhaifu” — “Unity is Strength, Division is Weakness.” This Swahili proverb from Tanzania captures the spirit of a global movement thousands of miles away: the quest for Korean unification. As part of the growing One Korea Global Campaign, Tanzanians are lending their voices to a cause that seeks to turn the Korean Dream into a reality, a peaceful and unified Korea.

The One Korea Global Campaign is a grassroots movement that calls for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula. It rallies support from people around the world, highlighting that Korean unification is not just a regional issue, but a global one. The campaign envisions a unified Korea rooted in shared values and a common identity, promoting peace, prosperity, and collaboration beyond borders.

In alignment with this vision, Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Tanzania has taken an active role in mobilizing Tanzanians to support the Korean Dream. Tanzanians are joining the global Korean Dream 10 Million Signature Campaign, an initiative by GPF to collect signatures worldwide to show solidarity with the goal of unification. Through a series of engaging online activities, GPF Tanzania encourages participation among youth, professionals, and the broader public. From social media advocacy to sharing videos and testimonials, the message is clear: unity is possible, and Tanzanians stand in support.

A recent highlight was an Instagram Live session held on March 27, 2025, where Tanzanians living in South Korea shared insights about life in the region, the ideological divide between North and South Korea, and the potential for reconciliation. The session also served as a platform to discuss opportunities for studying and doing business in South Korea, creating an informative and inspiring space for viewers.

During the session, the signature link was shared to encourage more Tanzanians to take action. Among the speakers was Ali Rashid, Chairman of Tanzanian Students in South Korea, who applauded GPF’s efforts, saying, “I commend the Global Peace Foundation for championing this cause. Hopefully, one day, these efforts will bring real change and enhance peace in the Korean Peninsula.”

The One Korea Global Campaign is more than just a call for Korean reunification; it’s a worldwide movement that champions peace, shared identity, and the power of grassroots action. Rooted in the vision of the Korean Dream, the campaign seeks to unite people across nations in support of a free, just, and unified Korea, where common values and a shared destiny replace division and conflict. The campaign emphasizes that unification is not solely a Korean issue but a global responsibility, with peace on the Korean Peninsula contributing to broader regional and global stability. By mobilizing millions through education, cultural exchange, and civic engagement, the movement inspires hope and collective action toward a future where Korea stands united.

By promoting understanding and cross-cultural dialogue, GPF Tanzania continues to spark interest and commitment among Tanzanians not only for Korean unification but for all people who believe in peace and reconciliation.
