Introduction

Welcome to the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Membership Program. By enrolling in or renewing your membership, you agree to the following Terms & Policies.

This policy exists to protect the shared space we’re building together. We thank you for helping keep it safe, inclusive, and rooted in respect and for helping GPF remain a welcoming home for peacebuilders everywhere.

The GPF Membership Program is designed for individuals who value peacebuilding analysis, trusted resources, and meaningful dialogue. Membership provides access to exclusive insights, a private professional community, behind-the-scenes meetings and events, curated content, and other member-only opportunities. 

Your membership fee helps drive GPF’s efforts to advance values-based peacebuilding. Your participation enables GPF to collaborate, educate, convene, and advocate for peace around the world, and empowers you to play a pivotal role in creating sustainable change. 

By joining, members affirm their support for GPF’s values-based approach to peacebuilding, focused on our shared identity and heritage within the human family. 

1. Membership Overview

GPF offers an annual membership program for individuals aged 18 and older. The GPF Membership program is a professional membership and as such, enrollment does not provide voting rights, nor does it include products or certificates. 

Members receive:

  • Access to select GPF meetings and events (virtual and/or in-person)
  • Exclusive member-only content and briefings
  • Access to private community spaces (as applicable)
  • Newsletters and curated updates
  • Opportunities for dialogue and professional networking
  • Additional benefits as determined by GPF

Membership benefits may evolve over time.

2. Membership Fee Structure

Membership operates on a flat annual fee of your choosing (“pay-what-you-choose”), with a minimum of USD 5.00 (to cover transaction fees). Members select the amount they wish to contribute annually at the time of enrollment.

Your membership fee is a payment made in exchange for access to membership benefits and is distinct from general donations made without receiving benefits. 

The membership fee:

  • Sustains high-quality programming and research.
  • Enables continued access to trusted dialogue spaces.
  • Ensures long-term sustainability of GPF’s peacebuilding work.

Membership reflects shared commitment and investment in the mission.

3. Eligibility & Enrollment

Membership is open to individuals who:

  • Are aged 18 or older.
  • Support GPF’s mission and values.
  • Agree to abide by these Terms & Policies and Code of Conduct.

GPF reserves the right to deny or revoke membership at its discretion, consistent with its mission and applicable law.

3.1 Enrollment Process

Membership is available only through the official Membership sign-up form on the GPF website. Enrollment is complete once:

  • The membership form is submitted, and
  • The annual membership fee is successfully processed. (confirmation email will be sent)

Membership cannot be shared or transferred.

4. Membership Term & Renewal

  • Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of payment, known as the “membership term”
  • Members may renew annually by submitting a new membership payment.
  • GPF may send renewal reminders, but is not responsible for lapses in membership due to outdated contact information.

GPF reserves the right to modify the structure, benefits, or pricing model of the membership program at any time based on organizational discretion with prior notice. Changes will not retroactively reduce benefits already granted during an active membership term.

5. Code of Conduct

GPF is committed to fostering respectful, inclusive, and constructive dialogue and to a network free of harassment, discrimination, and disrespectful or threatening behavior. We take seriously the ability of our members to be a part of a community where human dignity is celebrated, and that is safe physically and psychologically. We will not tolerate harassment or discriminatory behavior among our member organizations, individuals, or during events. GPF reserves the right to remove any person or organization that violates this code from GPF events or to revoke membership on this basis. 

As part of this global movement, all members must agree to:

  • Strive to be an exemplary peacebuilder in both words and actions
  • Engage in good-faith dialogue.
  • Treat other members, staff, and partners with dignity and respect.
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or harmful conduct.
  • Protect the confidentiality of private discussions and member-only content.
  • Avoid using GPF spaces for partisan campaigning, fundraising, or unauthorized promotion.
  • Only use GPF name, logo, or materials with explicit permission from the organization. 

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or termination of membership without refund.

6. Data Processing & Privacy

By enrolling in the membership program, you agree that GPF may:

  • Collect and process personal information necessary to administer your membership.
  • Send membership-related communications, including newsletters, event updates, opportunities, program announcements, and renewal reminders.
  • Use secure third-party platforms to manage payments, communications, and community access.

GPF will:

  • Process personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
  • Not sell member data to third parties.
  • Take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information.

Members may opt out of non-essential communications at any time, though certain operational messages are required for membership administration.

8. Payments, Cancellation & Refunds

All payments are processed securely through GPF’s designated payment provider. Members may cancel their membership at any time by contacting GPF in writing using the email provided below. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically trigger a refund.

Membership fees are generally non-refundable, as members receive immediate access to exclusive content and community benefits. Exceptions may be granted at GPF’s discretion in cases such as:

  • Duplicate payments
  • Billing errors
  • Extenuating circumstances

Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of payment.

9. Changes to the Membership Program

GPF reserves the right to:

  • Modify membership benefits.
  • Adjust fee structures.
  • Discontinue the membership program.

Material changes will be communicated to members over email in advance where reasonably possible. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms & Policies.
