Leadership reports that the Global Peace Foundation-Nigeria encouraged Christian and Muslim faith leaders, and traditional and community leaders to continue preaching the gospel of peace for the survival of the country at a recent three-day training in Kaduna Sate, Nigeria on January 29, 2016.

Global Peace Foundation-Nigeria Country Director, Mr. John Oko, said that Nigeria must live in peace “because the country cannot develop in the absence of peace.”

The northern coordinator of the Global Peace Foundation, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, said the “One Family under God” campaign by the Global Peace Foundation, is a value-based peacebuilding and conflict prevention initiative that seeks to mitigate sectarian violence by changing attitudes and behaviors that drive identity-based conflict. The campaign is piloted in six communities in the state.

Rev. Hayab said Nigerians must understand that they are members of one family under God regardless of their race, religion and ethnicity.
