Over this year, I have found myself deeply grateful to be working with Global Peace Foundation and Global Peace Women. Amid the news of division and conflict, my appreciation for the work we do to engage hands and hearts in peacebuilding has grown.
I am proud to work in close collaboration with Global Peace Foundation. The values-based approach to peacebuilding that GPF has championed for more than a decade is so relevant. At Global Peace Women, we are charting the course for women and families to bring our unique perspectives, talents and experiences to the peacebuilding process on all levels, from the home to the community, nation, and world.
I like to tell our team that we are on the cutting edge of peace and development. We look to empowering the most basic foundation of society, the family, to coalitions of women’s organizations to be peacebuilders, starting from the hearts and minds of every woman, for service-minded women are true leaders and peacebuilders. I am honored to work alongside men and women who are putting their love for family and humanity into action.Â
Our network has raised women and families up through mentorships, networking and capacity building platforms, and ongoing enrichment programs, to foster international connections, support and innovative ideas.
This is an exciting place to invest in. Your commitment to peacebuilding will inspire another woman leader, a mother, a sister, a community organizer, a public servant, or an international representative, to participate in peacebuilding on all levels of her living – from the family to the world.
I want to share a few stories of the amazing women working with Global Peace Women who have been empowered by our collaborative programs to start making a difference in their communities today.Â
“The experience boosted my self-confidence, and I became better equipped to share my story and the work of my organization.”
—Wairimu Mwangi (Kenya), founder of Literature Africa Foundation
“Global Peace Women Leadership Academy enrichment was extremely helpful and therapeutic. It was lovely to see familiar faces every month. It was so warm and inspiring. I would say that the GPWLA enrichment program was beneficial in growing my leadership skills.”
—Aishwarya Chaturvedi (India)
“As mothers, we need to learn, train, empathize, validate, and recognize the challenges that our children are currently facing, whether they are our children or those we relate to. The family is the most important center for development.”
—Solange Blume (Ecuador)
