Ten days into Global Peace Youth’s 21-day campaign for #RiseNepal, U.S. students and volunteers are bringing smiles to raise awareness and send support to the hard-working Nepalese volunteers. Several groups of students from Washington state middle and high schools wrote whiteboard messages to display on social media for all the volunteers.

“As Co-president of our school’s Environmental Club we were very inspired [by] the volunteers in Nepal. We wanted to write and send motivating messages to the volunteers that are helping.” – GPY member via Facebook

Inspired to help out for Rise Nepal’s campaign: Shelter of Hope, GPY volunteers from the states of Washington and Montana are participating in Hike for Nepal to raise money for semi-permanent housing. Sponsored for every hike, these young leaders enjoy and appreciate the mountains in their own backyards while campaigning to rise up a country who is home to some of the tallest and most beautiful mountains in the world.
