Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and fellow leaders,
I am deeply honored and humbled to accept the 2024 Hive Global Leadership Excellence Community Award at the 9th Hive Africa Global Leaders Program here in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire. This award is not just a recognition of my efforts, but a testament to the collective dedication and hard work of all those who strive for positive change in our world.
Throughout my journey as a leader and advocate for peace, I have had the privilege to work with the Global Peace Foundation, an organization committed to fostering harmony and understanding among diverse communities worldwide based on the vision of One Family under God. This award is not just a reflection of my work, but a celebration of the power of collaboration, compassion, and unity in advancing the cause of peace. I would like to thank my wife, Elizabeth, who is here with me and my team at the Global Peace Foundation Kenya who works tirelessly to implement the vision we set out to achieve.
As we stand at the cusp of the African Renaissance, I dedicate this award to the bright future that lies ahead for our continent. Africa’s potential is boundless, and it is up to us, as leaders and change-makers, to unlock that potential and build a prosperous and inclusive future for all.
I also want to take this moment to acknowledge the courageous Kenyan youth, the GEN Zs, who are raising their voices and demanding integrity in leadership in Kenya. Your passion, your commitment, and your unwavering belief in a better future are inspiring. I encourage you to continue your peaceful protests and advocacy, but also to embrace dialogue and engagement with the current political administration. Change is possible when we come together, listen to each other, and work towards common goals. I also commend our
President, His Excellency William Samoei Ruto, for listening to the Kenyan youth and our children and making significant efforts to implement the desired changes so that together we can move forward as a nation.
In closing, let us remember that true leadership is not about accolades or titles, but about service, empathy, and a relentless dedication to making the world a better place for all. Together, let us continue to strive for a more just, peaceful, and prosperous future for Africa and the world.
Thank you.
