Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Philippines partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) in the first Development Partners Coordination Forum on Alternative Learning Systems (ALS) from July 20-21 in Pasig City.
The ALS forum is the first in a series of planning forums conducted by DepEd in collaboration with private and public, local and international organizations and government agencies to convey and develop policies and strategic programs to improve ALS performance in the Philippines.
Assistant Secretary Revsee Escobedo thanked GPF and other partners for their commitment to Filipino education saying, “We recognize the incremental value of assistance to basic education of various external and domestic donors and development partners that yield the benefits, such as additional resources, introduction of new ideas and capabilities useful to the operations of basic education.”
GPF was joined by other partners including United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH).
