Two days after the Somali terrorist organization Al Shabab stormed into Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, killing at least 67 men, women and children and injured over 175, the Global Peace Foundation assisted with a blood drive in Uhuru Park by donating medical supplies to Kenya Red Cross.

Numerous people from differing religious and ethnic backgrounds came together to support in the drive. Some volunteers gave blood while others gave food, clothing and water. Kenyans have truly partnered together to support in the crisis and raised more than 60 million Kenya Shillings under the ‘We are One’ campaign.

The government has been able to contain the situation, as the attackers have either been killed or arrested. “We confronted this evil without flinching, confronted our deep grief and pain, and conquered it,” President Uhuru Kenyatta said.

The Global Peace Foundation would like to express their deep condolences to the friends, relatives and families of the bereaved. We also would like to wish all of the injured victims a quick recovery.
