Title
Creating Peaceful Schools Around the World
Description
This webinar will explore from an international perspective how character, respect, empathy, responsibility, service and related qualities contribute to creating peaceful classrooms, schools and communities. Learn how schools around the world are taking proactive experiential based approaches in creating cultures of peace. Examples and programs will illustrate the building of understanding though shared values and common aspirations to establish the basis for lasting peace beyond divisive boundaries. In light of the terrible violence and conflicts that are plaguing schools and societies the need to actively teach peace and model peaceful ways of living together has never been so urgent, to achieve real peace on all levels. The presenters will draw on their extensive experience in working with schools and educators around the world.
Our webinar in just a week before the UN The International Day of Peace which is observed around the world on 21 September 2016 http://internationaldayofpeace.org/. This is a great opportunity for schools and students around the world to share their commitment to peace though pledges and acts of peace. These can be shared online and in venues through a series of short video clips that describe either the peace pledges or acts of peace
