“Our world needs moral and innovative leaders who can promote peace, justice, and equality regardless of their religion, gender, race, and social status. They can be a catalyst of change, help different communities, and live for the greater good.” —Marlon Ibañez, GPV Camp 2018

Marlon was one of fifty young people from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the Philippines whose passion for leadership and character inspired them to attend Global Peace Foundation’s (GPF) 2018 Global Peace Volunteers Camp on May 29-31 in Antipolo City.

The three-day camp underscored the importance of advancing “Moral and Innovative Leadership” in helping individuals contribute to their larger society and nation. With the vision to address social issues beyond race, religion, and culture, Global Peace Volunteers participated in activities and discussion exploring leadership, character, and personal growth.

GPF’s ongoing youth programs challenge young leaders to not only foster their creativity and innovation, but to also use their talents and knowledge for a greater purpose that will benefit first their families and communities, creating a domino effect of positive change for their nation.

Global Peace Volunteers represent a growing network of young leaders around the world who form a platform for joint action to address today’s challenges and open a way for lasting peace.
