On April 10-12, the Philippines’ Department of Education Region IX and Global Peace Foundation (GPF) co-organized a 2-day Regional Youth Leadership Training at Pinan Zamboanga peninsula. The camp empowered the youth as peacebuilding leaders by nurturing their character and virtues. They were also exposed to the importance of advancing “Moral and Innovative Leadership” for the benefit of the larger society, nation, and the world.

“We are fortunate to be part of this training, as we relentlessly provide avenues to educators and as well as to the youth,” said Genedin Padilla, Zamboanga City Division, Department of Education. “Opportunities wherein we can learn and develop skills, talents, and potential.”

Teachers, mentors, and youth worked side by side to tackle community issues and formulate sustainable solutions. Jinsoo Kim, Regional President of GPF Asia Pacific, pointed out the incredible opportunity and impact of the camp to foster moral and innovative leadership through engagement. Volunteers build leadership skills while being exposed to real-world scenarios, inspiring them to bring a positive impact to their local community.
