Celebrating a Remarkable Year: 2024 at a Glance

Dear Peacemaker,

As we wrap up an incredible year, we are thrilled to share a few highlights of what you have helped us accomplish in 2024.

Community Peacebuilding and Security: GPF uses a community-driven approach to work with community members, faith leaders, and local officials to establish dialogue, build trust, and forge lasting relationships based on shared values. This year we:

● Launched a PeaceHub campaign in India.

● Participated in C20-2024 Brazil: a platform for civil society organizations and social movements around the world to voice people’s aspirations to world leaders in G20.

● Hosted a Youth Leadership Knowledge Exchange sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships.

Free and Unified Korea: GPF promotes a Korean-led, globally supported unification movement for a united Korea that upholds freedom, democratic values, and human rights. This year we:

● Participated in the inauguration of Alliance for Korea United – Washington.

● Organized forums exploring the future of a peacefully reunified Korea, welcoming experts on peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region at International Forums on One Korea held in Seoul and the United States, the Mongolia Forum on Northeast Asia Peaceful Development and Korean Unification, and a Peace Design Forum in Japan.

● Hosted the North Korean Young Leaders Assembly in Washington DC.

Freedom of Conscience, Belief, and Religion: GPF develops and implements multilateral strategies to raise awareness of the fundamental right of religious freedom. This year we:

● Participated in the annual International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington DC.

● Organized Religious Freedom Roundtables alongside prominent international conferences.

● Arranged religious freedom internship program providing unparalleled opportunities for rising undergraduate and graduate students.

Transforming Education: Empowering educators and students with knowledge, tools, and values are essential to building cohesive communities. This year we:

● Conducted a series of workshops and training programs in-person and online for educators in the Philippines, India, Brazil, Uganda, and Kenya.

● Hosted the Great Places to School Awards in Kenya recognizing outstanding institutions incorporating holistic education focused on values-driven education.

● Ran Mobile Schools for children in rural Malaysia.

Families and Women in Peacebuilding: Strengthening families as the building blocks of peaceful societies is an essential part of GPF’s work. This year we:

● Developed service projects led by women in the Philippines, Nepal, Korea, and many other countries.

● Conducted the annual Living for the Sake of Others Awards in Paraguay.

● Continued the Global Peace Women Leadership Academy.

Youth Leadership Development: GPF programs empower youth to take a leading role in peacebuilding. This year we:

● Launched the Global Peace Leadership Corps.

● Conducted moral and innovative leadership workshops and service projects in Nepal, India, Kenya, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

● Held the Global Youth Summit in 17 cities across the Philippines.

Development and Service: GPF engages local organizations and community members as partners to find sustainable solutions to development priorities. This year we:

● Planted millions of new trees in Kenya, Mongolia, and Guatemala.

● Taught families how to make eco-friendly products and rooftop gardens in Nepal and provided clean water systems to rural villages in Malaysia.

● Educated children on health and hygiene in India.

International Convenings: GPF, with support from government ministries and civil society partners, hosts international convenings to develop innovative responses to complex political and social challenges affecting nations, regions, and the international community. This year we hosted the:

● Perspectives for Greater Economic and Cultural Engagements: Latin America—U.S.—Asia-Pacific Region forum in Florida.

● Global Peace Leadership Conference Africa 2024.

● International Forum on One Korea in Seoul.

None of this would have been possible without your support. As we look forward to the new year, we are filled with hope and enthusiasm for what lies ahead. Thank you for being an essential part of our journey and for believing in our mission.
