The 2021 Global Peace Convention, the signature bi-annual assembly of the Global Pace Foundation, opened on August 6, drawing more than 200 policy makers, educators, youth and women leaders and peace practitioners, and more than 6000 international participants, in an unprecedented virtual environment.
Drawing on cutting edge technology, the August 6-15 Convention, due to Covid restrictions, simulates a conference environment, with users presented with a dazzling level of options to engage their specific interests, enable networking and one-on-one engagement, explore booths in an Exhibit Hall, find support at a live Help Desk, and obtain instant background on speakers and work related to their presentations.
“Although restrictions relating to the Covid pandemic make in-person gathering impossible,” said Global Peace Foundation International President James Flynn, “we see this virtual environment as an exponential expansion of earlier conventions. This platform and the efforts of developers and our dedicated staff show how formidable challenges can be turned into opportunities for positive development.”
Convention Tracks include Values-Based Peacebuilding, International Forum on One Korea, Global Peace Youth Forum, Peace and Development Service, Transforming Education, Global Youth Summit, Women’s Leadership, and Global Peace Youth.
Participants can earn professional development certification, and language modules provide a native conference environment for most languages, with translation of live presentations available in Spanish, Portuguese, Korean and others.
Users can personalize their own schedules and all sessions are available On Demand shortly after the completion of the sessions.
