A Global Peace Foundation project in:

Midnight Football is a program that transforms the lives of underserved youth through football.

Football skills training and leadership education is combined to bring out the passion and the vision of Malaysian youth.

Midnight Football believes that  empowering the next generation with the tools to be the bearers of change not only sets them up for success, but guarantees a successful future in the communities that they are involved.

The players played hard, sweat, smiled, lost and won during Midnight Football’s most recent indoor soccer tournament. The games were intense, but at the start of each game, players shook hands and embraced. For them, their opponents were friends first and competition second.

Project Details

Approach: Global Peace Foundation Malaysia with support and partnership of the Asian Football Confederation and corporate sponsor FIGOS is offering a unique program that uses football, volunteer projects and leadership training to give youth not only football skills but important lessons about perseverance, teamwork, integrity and hard work. It also provides leadership skills training and often second chances.  

 

Midnight Football is also strengthening interfaith connections within communities, intergenerational communication and the overall stability of the lives of the families involved with the program.  

 

The Department of National Unity and Integration under the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department is impressed with the work of the AFC in its youth development programme Midnight Football.
