Chairwoman of the women’s division of Global Peace Foundation, Dr. Junsook Moon, addressed Global Peace Women executives from around the world and former congresswomen from Korea at an international meeting held in Seoul, Korea on December 5, 2017, pointing to the significance of the Peace Begins in the Home Campaign, an international movement to bring awareness to the importance of strong, healthy families in stable societies.

“Every woman who cultivates a family and cares for their children is a person with a delicate sense of love,” said Dr. Moon. “It is possible to establish healthy and stable families when combining the strengths of men and women to harmonize and complement each other. If the family is unstable, it affects social stability. I hope that women can develop their talent and capacity, and grow into leaders who contribute to the stability of their homes and world peace.”
The Peace Begins in the Home Campaign is a key project of Global Peace Women (GPW) that launched in 2017 and has already gained the support of thousands of families from 14 countries around the world who have submitted photos and participated in ongoing programs facilitating healthy relationships in the family.
GPW leaders attend international meeting in Seoul
Secretary General of GPW, Dr. Soonok Kang, also introduced the Global Peace Women Leadership Academy, a program launched in 10 countries to cultivate moral and innovative leadership capacities in young women.
The Honorable Yeonsook Lee, former member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, commended the opportunity to gain an in-depth look into GPW international activities saying, “For fifty years I have attended so many international assemblies and events. But since I’ve followed Global Peace Foundation, from the last Global Peace Convention in the Philippines to this event in Seoul… this gathering is an event of owners rather than simply followers.”
The meeting included 40 leaders and GPW Korea representative Mrs. MiHwa Kim who presented projects for 2018, highlighting plans to address gender-based violence, healthy parenting and safety in schools.
