Affirming that “peace begins in the home,” the Global Peace Foundation seeks to engage women and other stakeholders to create a supportive cultural environment to strengthen and empower women’s leadership as a fundamental resource in advancing peace and human development.

Women in Tanzania for the Peace Begins in the Home campaign
In Tanzania, Margreth struggles with discrimination and work exploitation from having a hearing impairment. Previously, she worked at Buhangjuga Primary school as a teacher for nine months. However, during this time, she was not payed for her work.
