Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Cambodia and Global Peace Alliance Cambodia are proud partners in an ongoing effort to bolster youth leadership, environmental action and mentorship through the Environmental Education Project and Grow Green Days, which took place throughout the summer at local primary schools in Cambodia.

Global Peace Volunteers serve as mentors and teachers in environmental education and participate with the primary grade students in plantation activities, engaging more than 400 children in immediate environmental restoration and providing them with the knowledge to protect the environment into the future.

“My work for the next generation is to make sure that they perceive more truths than facts in their life,” said volunteer teacher Mech Sereyrath. The youth division of GPF focuses on instilling moral and innovative leadership qualities that provide young people with the capacity to come up with creative and ethical solutions to issues facing their communities. The mentorship model of volunteers who participate in programs like the Environment Education Project demonstrate the power of service in creating a youth culture that values healthy, safe and thriving societies.
