Global Peace Foundation Kenya convened a Web Rangers stakeholders meeting in an effort to address child safety online. The meeting was held in November at the Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education in Africa with sponsorship by Google Kenya.
The Child Online Safety campaign was officially launched through Leap Hubs and is reported to have impacted over 3,000 students and 1,400 teachers nationwide since November of 2015, enabling them to build positive digital footprints. Other campaign partners present during the meeting include the Kenya Film Classification Board, Kenya Girl Guides Association, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and CODE IP Trust.
Students from Moi Forces Academy, Machakos Boys High School, and Friends School Kaimosi Girls participated in the meeting and were awarded with badges as Web Rangers, affirming their commitment to champion online safety.
