“The principles, values and goals of this organization truly creates a huge impact in order to serve and love for the greater good, regardless of race, religion, and culture. We are the volunteers who work under the name ‘One Family,’ with the purpose of helping kids and giving them an education because they will be role models to the next generation.” PAK Sonita, a student of the Institute of Foreign Languages, thanked Global Peace Foundation Cambodia and fellow Global Peace Volunteers following the successful completion of the Basic English Language Instruction (BELI) project for the school year of 2015-2016.

Sonita was one of 167 volunteers from 33 different universities located near Phnom Penh, Cambodia that participated in the BELI project, successfully increasing elementary students’ English literacy in nine primary public schools. Through the combined efforts of Cambodia’s public school system and the GPF chapter staff of Cambodia who monitored volunteer teachers, university students were selected through an interview process to qualify as volunteer teachers. Following an orientation and training session, volunteers were eager to begin the year, motivated by their passion for the vision of One Family under God.
